Hope for the Planet
I had a recurring dream to create an ethereal, winged sculpture to offer a haven for hope.
My dream has become a reality of global connection and community as I collect wishes for the Earth and incorporate them into the inner section of my aerial sculpture. May the positive energy toward our planet elicit global healing.
EXPERIENCE THE SCULPTURE
When one looks up into the wing-like filters, lifting their chest and opening their heart, there is an involuntary intake of breath that cleanses, welcoming a shifted perspective.
Believe in the power of positivity and join the movement.
I have made a downloadable PDF for anyone who would like to fill out a wish. Each page contains nine wish Papers. You may fill out only one or collect wishes from your friends and family. You can also print out multiple pages.
When filling out your paper, I ask for your first name, the age you feel, and your wish.
You may stop by my studio to fill out your Wish Paper or drop off the completed pages. You can also mail them to my studio:

I will add every wish for the planet to my installation. May the positive energy toward our planet elicit global healing.
HOW TO SUPPORT
I am seeking donations to help support this project. Thank you for believing in the power of positivity!
SYMBOLISM
My sculpture measures about eight feet in all directions. The number eight symbolizes infinity, rebirth, and abundance. Each Wish paper is rolled into the shape of an unfurling seedling, revealing a name or age but concealing the wish.
The handwriting is unique to the individual, demonstrating individuality blending in a common mission, spiraling up together for hope.
Wish papers measure three inches by three and a half inches. The number three represents all: the beginning, middle, and end, or Earth, water, and beyond, as well as body, mind, and spirit. The number three and a half symbolizes things still in progress, unfinished. I suspended the wishes in an abstracted DNA double helix, common to all life on our planet.
The outer haven, I Love You, is made with commercial coffee filters to symbolize community and connection. When you have coffee with someone, you share time and connect as equals.
I grouped the coffee filters in twos and nines. Two is associated with harmony, balance, partnership, and love. Nine represents universal love, spiritual awakening, enlightenment, and humanitarianism.
I used ferrous metal and magnets, representing gravity’s pull on all of us, to attach the filters to the frame. Whether you stand on the left or right politically, we are all held firmly to the same planet.
